Bolide meteor shoots over TX I was lucky enough to see this while riding home on my motorcycle northbound on Mopac Hwy. It was incredible! I’ve never seen anything like it. The way I perceived it, it looked really close. Like I even thought it landed in a field by Mopac. After I got home and saw it on the news, it turns out, it was going SO fast that it gave me the illusion that it was close, when in reality it was high in the atmosphere going 15 miles per SECOND. That’s 54,000 miles per hour!
