We’ve had bad luck finding a house. I think it may be because we’re too picky, but hey, it’s our HOUSE! We both have unique styles, especially Stephanie, so the bar was high.
We found a few houses that we thought were “the ones”, but turns out, someone else felt the same way, and beat us to them.
We approached a deadline for being able to use the 8K, so we had to find a house within ONE day. The state decided to stop accepting applications early. There were a few that we liked, but nothing that we LOVED. So we submitted a bid on one, then had to choose a 2nd as a backup. Our backup turned out to have foundation problems, so we dropped that one. The only other house we would even consider was in a rural area that we didn’t really want to live in. For one last time, Steph checked online and found one that we had looked past for one reason or another in Round Rock. We called our realtor and she met us at the house 20 minutes later.
We loved the house, and it was in our preferred city. The problem was, we’d already received an accepted bid on the first house, so we needed an answer to a bid the next day! Usually, that is almost impossible, but we were willing to try, and our realtor agreed to do everything she could to make it happen. We filled out the bid that night, and sent it in.
We drove back through the neighborhoods, and decided we’d be happy with either house, and we’d leave it in God’s hands, and be grateful for whatever we ended up with. Taking everything into consideration, though, we preferred the Round Rock house.
Today, about 2pm, we got an answer, and they took the bid! We are getting the Round Rock house!
